Step Three: GO SHOPPING! Woo!! (Grocery shopping …) Fill your fridge with healthy options like fresh fruit and vegetables, lean meats, low-fat dairy products and eggs.
What’s in my fridge right now?
Top shelf: Fat-free natural yogurt with pro-biotics, low-fat cottage cheese, granny smith apples
2nd shelf: Lean turkey and lean pork
3rd shelf: Gazpacho (cold tomato soup), eggs, milk carton, sliced turkey
Bottom shelf: Water bottle, Bag of fresh spinach.
Print off a blank calendar for the current month.
Post it on your fridge and keep a marker close by.
Cross a big X the days you do NOT workout.
On the days you workout, make a note of what workout you did.
Keeping a visual like this helps you to stay accountable. And it feels great to write down the workout on the calendar after you finish it!
Hint: I just noticed I keep my workout calendar on the fridge with pizza delivery magnets… probably not a good idea.. lol. Note to self: Buy new fridge magnets!
Buy a little food diary (keep it in your purse or briefcase) and update it throughout the day.
When you write down what you eat, you become more aware of the amount you’re consuming each day. If you start writing down “3 handfuls of candy from the candy jar at work, 2 donuts at the office, the leftovers of my 5 children’s dinner plates…. “, you’ll start to realize you might be seriously hindering your progress!!!
It also will help keep tabs on how much water you’re getting… Oops! I’m on two cups of coffee so far today and no glasses of water… Time to drink up!
